:: PERSONALITY ::
Laurie is pretty shy, having preferred most of her life to be alone due to the suffering that her mother had gone through to have her. Later she secluded herself because of her lack of control over her powers. She didn't want to be popular because of what she could do, she wanted people to like her for who she was.
Growing up without a father has left her with a slight anger problem, so to the few people who do become close to her, she is severely overprotective and if someone does harm to them or wrongs them in any way, her rage is nearly uncontainable. Most of the time, she tends to stick to herself as she's afraid to get too close to people and induce emotions that they don't feel. She gets pretty lonely, but prefers the loneliness over fake popularity or a relationship based on her pheromones.
Since being at Xavier's, she has managed to slide under the radar, however more recently, she's been receiving help to learn to control her powers. Thus far, she has managed to stop emitting them for short periods of time, and her control goes out the window if she is emotionally overwhelmed.
Despite herself, growing up without a father has made her a little bit desperate for male attention, however the idea of her pheromones controlling anybody that came near her kept her away from most.

As of yet, Laurie has no real control over this power, but it is thought that once she does gain control she could induce such effects as; fear, anger, lust, calm, happiness, sleep. It is theorized that she would be able to psionicly 'aim' her pheromones to the target and they would have the desired effect only upon that person or people. People who have wind control powers can disperse her pheromones. As it stands, she can only make the people around her feel what she's feeling, and she has little control over the release of her pheromones, at this point only barely being able to stop from emitting them.

:: History ::
Laurie was born to a single mother in Kent, Connecticut. She was a second generation mutant, having inherited the same mutations as her father, Sean Garrison. Her mother had been manipulated by Sean's pheromones, and upon becoming pregnant with his child, her mother became immune to his powers. Having grown wise to his game, Gail (her mother) left Sean and raised Laurie on her own.
Laurie lived her life as an outcast, mostly by choice, preferring not to be hurt by anybody the way that her mother was hurt by her father, however unlikely a situation that was. She became very sensitive to people that had been through something difficult, being able to identify with them having grown up without a father. This made her sympathetic, but it also caused her to have quite a temper regarding people being mistreated.
When she was 13, her and her mother went on vacation and it seemed like suddenly she was the most popular person in the world. She was having a blast, up until her mother explained to her that it was because of her mutation, which must have only now emerged. Laurie was shocked, and went into seclusion, afraid of what she could do and slightly upset that it was for this reason that she'd become popular.
It was shortly after this vacation when she was approached by Xavier and Jean grey, having caught her activity on Cerebro. She has been at the institute for three years, approximately, and is only now beginning to learn control over her powers.
