Spring Break was in full swing in downtown New Orleans, and Remy LeBeau was on the run. He decided to use the cover of the “holiday” to arrange a way out of Louisiana for a while. He already had taken a couple thousands and put it into a different bank account with a fake name. He hadn’t taken time to process it, but he was a mutant. He was just doing his best not to touch anything.
He had to be careful in his movements. He knew there were so many ways for them to find him, but fortunately they’d be looking in his most common area’s digs. He knew the Assassin’s were out for blood, and the Thieves wouldn’t be any happier with him. He was in a part of town he very rarely came to so hopefully they wouldn’t be anywhere in this area to look for him. He needed to get out of town. He didn’t want to go to a bus terminal. They may be scoping those out, and he didn’t have a clue how many operatives were in town to help in tracking him down.
He needed to relax, and possibly get into a group of people to better conceal himself. If anything there wasn’t much he could do safely tonight. He could just find some tourist skank to shack up with in her hotel room. That would be his best bet to be somewhere they wouldn’t find him. He didn’t want to get his own room or use any fake names tonight, not in New Orleans.
He spotted a dark haired girl sitting alone. A perfect mark. She looked the part of a nice tourist girl trying to have good time. For all he knew she might have got ditched by her friends, or recently dumped. All of those would certainly work in his favor. Remy made his way over, resting his hand on the top of one of the vacant chairs. ”This seat taken, chere?”

She hadn't been sitting down three minutes when oh great... Swallowing the mouthful of whatever, she looked up at him. This was one of those key moments where she decided if she'd like this guy or not. He'd asked to sit down, there weren't many chairs available, it was fairly crowded, could be he just wanted a place to sit.
He was a local, he had a certain flair about him which intrigued her. Not to the point of showing it mind you, merely to a point where she couldn't decide whether or not to trust this person yet. Naturally he was placed in the mysterious category, but that place was just packed full of people now days. She broke down finally and nodded motioning to the chair with a gesture. "Sure,"
She brushed her hair behind her shoulder before continuing to eat. She wasn't big on small talk and that probably showed by now as she continued eating, trying to pay no mind to the strange, mysterious, native across the table. She cautiously placed a hand in her pocket as to keep from touching anything, or worse someone. While she tried to play this encounter off as a brief one she was very tense and was partially hoping he'd walk away.

She gave him the ok to sit down, and as he did he scanned around the area for anyone that he might want to be sitting near. She was sitting back, and seemingly uninterested. He wasn’t going to let that put him at a disadvantage. He leaned back in his chair looking unimpressed as a means to mock her.
”Do I look as grumpy as you? I can’t tell.” He tried not to smile. ”I feel like I got it right, but without a mirror there’s just no way to be sure.” He was teasing her in an attempt to raise some kind of reaction out of her. This would help him in gauging how he should proceed with the rest of his conversation. He couldn’t just rely on his hands after what had happened. He could be carrying bombs in his hands for all he knew.
He knew what was happening, and he knew he was a mutant. He needed to learn how to control his powers now, and he had no idea where to begin yet. Well he knew not to touch anyone, and hopefully this girl wasn’t looking for a tumble. He just couldn’t risk blowing another person into pieces this week let alone for the rest of his life.
He felt horrible for what had happened, but kept up his false front of being a normal relaxed guy in NOLA. He wouldn’t let on that he was devastated on the inside. He was a thief, but he was no killer. He never had a desire for anyone to die let alone in his arms. He had no idea where he would go from here, but he’d figure it out before the end of the night hopefully. At the very least he’d head out the state tomorrow somehow.

Zoe looked up seeing Remy lean in on the table. She paused as his comment took a moment to process. She set the tray of half eaten food down and scooted it away. She leaned in and stared him straight in the eye. Her arms laid over one another on the table. This was the type of strange almost dry humor she could get behind. Her eyebrows arched as if she were concentrating and she gently nodded.
"not too bad, I'm better at it though,"
This was a sign of acceptance from her. He wasn't too shy, his humor wasn't the type that she'd let annoy her. He had some sort of gull but he was still just an outsider, she'd keep her guard up, but socializing wasn't going to be a problem.
She leaned away from the table, crossing her arms across her stomach, then crossing a leg over the other she looked at him for a moment. Given the previous use of "Chere" She'd assumed he was from around here.
"What brings you here? Don't ya see enough of it. Tourists and'all?
Sure it was a good attraction but there couldn't be any more then a handful of people that actually lived close by. The tourists were plain as day to her, hell he probably spotted her from a mile away. Tourists were funny in that anyone that looked the part had to be the part, but her lack of Nawlens accent had to be blatantly obvious. She wanted to assess the situation and find out why he'd chosen to sat with her.

He chuckled as she exclaimed she did it better. ”Well I can’t argue that. You have the unnatural gift of looking unimpressed.” He leaned back in his chair as she began to probe him about the constant flow of tourist to the area. He was more than a little thrown off, but at the same time he had recently just killed a man. He was slightly distracted as he kept casually glancing around for any familiar faces he didn’t want to see.
”Actually I was lookin’ to get out the area pretty soon, maybe take a trip to Florida for a bit.” He was gauging to see if she might have a ride he could tag along with. She looked like a drifter kind of chic, and that is exactly what he could use right now. He leaned back into his chair trying to keep his hands away from anything.
He was still freaked out that his hands were carrying potential bombs in them. He could rely on himself to touch things, but he had grabbed some gloves to wear over them in the meantime. He wasn’t sure if they’d work or if he could even touch himself without setting off an explosion. He had too many things going on inside his head right now, and no time to figure one or the other out.

"I've had plenty of time to practice it, probably too much," she said with a slight amount of amusement. The more recent years had most definitely been more interesting than the beginning of her life. She noticed several times he wasn't exactly paying attention to her, not that it mattered. She'd been on the run more than a few times.
"Florida huh? No use in going alone right?" she said having no clue she was playing just how he wanted. In truth she could go to just get away from this crowded place. Not that she was a fan of the sun and sand but the beaches had scenery she enjoyed all on a separate scale.
With her elbows arched on the table cradling her head she smiled. "I'd take ya to Florida with me. If I knew your name,"
Sure it may have been a lame excuse to get his name, but what was she supposed to call him? cheery? That would be okay for a nickname should he need for one arrive, but it just wouldn't do at this moment."My name is Zoe, simple, now your turn,"

Remy smirked as she seemed pretty quick to wanna take off with him. ”So the only requirement to you bringing me to Florida is my name?” He looked up and off to the side as to be contemplating whether he’d give her his name or not. ”Are you sure? I was always told not to give vital information to strangers.” He said sarcasticly. She was a unique one, but she clearly had no ties anywhere if she was willing to pick up, and go just like that. At the moment that was precisely what he needed from someone. ”Fortunately for you. Remy, think he can trust ya yeah?” He said with a smile. He hadn’t extended her his hand yet, but he was terrified to touch anyone right now. He knew he couldn’t go on not touching her, or avoiding touching anything for that matter. He noticed a clothing store across the way. ”I’ll be back in a second chere. Don’t leave without me now.” He said with a smile. He made his way across the street, and into the store. It had alot of apparel, and he knew what he was looking for. He wasn’t sure if they’d have it, but he had to do something. He slowly made his way around the place to see if they had what he was looking for. Then he saw a small area that had a handful of leather gloves. They were full length gloves, and that was exactly what he needed. For the first time in his life he was terrified to put his hands on something. He was never shy about getting his hands on any item, but here he was an elite thief who was so nervous to touch anything. He felt like this was a curse, but he knew he had to do something. He slowly reached out putting his fingers around the gloves in preparation to grab them, but he was more hesitant than he was to reach out for them. He paused for what felt like an eternity. He wanted to close his eyes, but he had to see if he was doing it again. He held his breathe as he closed his hands grabbing the gloves. This time nothing happened, and he let out a sigh of relief. He wondered if he had been having a bad nightmare, if he even had blown someone up, but he remembered ditching his shirt back in the swamp. He remembered putting on a new one at his car before leaving it as lights had pulled up where it was parked before he could leave in it. He made his way to the clerk, and reached for his back pocket to grab his wallet. He almost didn’t want to let go of the gloves just because he hadn’t blown them up, and he had thought about stealing them. He knew better to risk a scene right now over a pair of gloves. He paid for them all while trying to control his hands from trembling. He had put a twenty on the counter, and calmly grabbed a bandana as well. He put the gloves on walking back out the store, and tied the bandana around his head to conceal his hair. He took a seat back at the table with the girl. ”Sorry about that, chere. Had to use the bathroom.” He smiled leaning back in the chair. He felt a bit more comfortable with the gloves covering his hands now. He extended his hand out toward her. ”Like I said. Remy. Remy LeBeau.”[/blockquote]

"Why go alone if I can take a real life cajun?"
She made it obvious she had no interest in going to Florida alone. He would be the reason to go if at all. vital info? she grinned at his choice of words with a combination of her dirty little mind. She wouldn't mind getting to the vitals later if it came to it, bourbon street was a bit too crowded for such things, unless he was into that sort of stuff.
None the less she rounded up her dirty little mind back into its cage and focused again. His speech was a bit troublesome, all the while intersting. Accents always seemed to have adverse, or desired effects upon the opposite sex. His only gave her the inability to understand what he'd just said. trust? ppfff
"Don't leave me hangin Rim,"
He walked away, where she didn't know, she'd wait just long enough to have doubts that he'd return. She looked around and people seemed to be staring at the vacant chair. She could see them yearning to take a seat in it; it was sad. People looked at the chair and then back to her as if she were the judge of all lawn chairs along this street. It was amusing at first but it started to agitate her. She slouched down and propped her feet in the chair opposite her just to mark her territory. Her thick boots were intimidating enough, however she'd let anyone interested take a seat on them; her boots that is.
Then wandering through the crowd he'd returned. She hadn't expected him to come back but he had, did this mean her jokes had been taken as friendly? Her rare sense of humor was rarely appreciated, this would prove to be an adventure. sure.. she didn't take the bathroom excuse but she had nothing to disprove it. She pulled her feet from out of the chair and took a stand, looking at his hand she had half a mind not to even go for it, but what the hell. She concentrated as best she could in order to avoid any crazy things happening to his glove, but it was always a gamble.
"So should we go Rembo?" the bandana brought on the nickname.
She reached out and firmly wrapped her leather clad digits around his before slowly letting her forefinger wrap around the back of his hand. unfortunately her gamble didn't pay off, almost as soon as her bare forefinger wrapped around his hand the two of their hands fell to the table as if fifty pounds hand just been wrapped around their hands. "Shit!" she shouted managed to pull her hand free form beneath his.

He sat down chuckling at the newest nickname she had given him. She had taken his hand, and it promptly hit the table as if a ton of bricks were on top of their hands. He was shocked, but quickly realized he may have found someone he could open up to. ”You...you’re one also?” He sighed a bit of relief. He didn’t want to tell anyone, but he also needed to speak to someone about it.
”I’m a...well...ya’know...a mutant.”
He thought for a minute as their grip broke from one another. The pressure that had been on his hand was now gone. He leaned in whispering to prevent any eavesdropping. ”Can you control it?” He had to ask if she could control his then there could be hope for him. He wasn’t ready to fully confide in her what was going on, but it seemed like fate had placed it’s hand on his shoulder tonight. That or lady luck was kissing him on the cheek, either way not only had he found a ride out of Louisiana, but a fellow mutant at that. He sat back taking in the information that she had given him. She didn’t seem to pleased that he knew, but for him this was a best case scenario. Finally he could really focus in on turning on the charm. ”I say we got ourselves a good plan. We hit Florida, we pull some scams, make some money, and keep on moving. Remy ain’t never been on a road trip, and I think it’s ‘bout time that changed eh?” He wasn’t as slow in his delivery of sentences now, and he had a more confident air in his voice. The night itself had gone very bad, but at least it looked like it wouldn’t end with him in a coffin. He gave her a smirk as he rested his elbow on the table, and his hand hiding his face from the people on his right side. ”Care for an adventure?” He said with a evil grin. He had spent his teen life preparing to be a world class thief, but now he realized that he had something better. He had freedom to do as he pleased. He could go where he wanted, steal what he wanted, and live life how he wanted. Somehow this night was starting to feel like a blessing already. [/blockquote]

She snatched her hand back and rubbed her wrist nervously. She wasn't about to let him find out but his reaction wasn't what she had expected. "one what?" she asked quickly trying to void any sort of accusation she may be facing. Of course it wasn't hard to figure out something strange had happened. Then he started explaining why he'd asked. He sat and she followed suit and leaned in just as her did.
"Are you a....I mean..sometimes I can..I'm working on it.
explaining these sorts of things was difficult enough, but now there was someone that knew what she was talking about. His attitude seemed to change a bit, he always seemed happy but now, now he was just ecstatic. She had to admit, this was interesting, hell it was fun. She chuckled a bit at him talking about a road trip. She smiled and leaned away from the table with a devious smile.
"I'm game if you are, we'll have to find some sort of thing to pull when we get to Florida, a plan ya know?" She propped her arm on the table and leaned in with a new more fervent attitude. "Any ideas rem? Maybe somethign to do with our powers?" of course having no ideas what his powers were it seemed like a good idea.
