:: PERSONALITY ::
When first meeting Masato, one of three words that might come to people’s minds are that he is respectful, energetic, and/or an idiot. Masato has been trained from a young age to be respectful of others, and to always be extremely kind. That being said if he meets someone his age he has a tendency to be extremely overactive and very happy, since he has never really had the chance to spend time with others his age. This can come to the point where he'll unknowingly say something out of context or wrong and may anger a few people, not on purpose of course, but what is life without social awkwardness. It should be mentioned that Masato, despite being able to speak fluint english, Masato has a light accent.
Those who actually get to know him, see that it is much worse. He has a tendency to be even more over active with his friends, and despite being really loyal to them, may cause more problems for them then what they realize. That being said, Masato has always been known to be a mediator between people, and has shown to be able to quiet a potential storm. He can at times be seen reading, watching movies, playing video games, or doing something else that would give him a decent story to pass on to others. While Masato is able to control himself, it is no one’s best interest for him to become board. Mostly because when board Masato will find ways to relieve this; usually involving harmless practical jokes, water balloons, and/or a nerf-gun. Often when board or in trouble Masato might fake not being able to speak english, if the person doesn't know better.
He has a passion for sewing, and makes his own clothing as well as will make some for others. This is often followed by him saying, "This is a Masato original, there will never be anything like this." The only other thing people need to watch out for with Masato is that he has tendency to hug people. This could be from various things, from people helping him, to someone saying something cute, or even cause he was board. Masato, while not doing it on purpose has a tendency to be quite the gossip, but never to hurt someone.
That being said Masato isn't all sunshine and cookies. The few ocassions where he does get truely upset or angry, have been known to lead to other issues. While few and far between, Masato does have a tendency to become angry when someone threatens a friend of his, or if someone tries to complain about his prefence in friends. While not common, people may catch Masato having small burst of anger, often leading to him punching a wall or something else that might be soft enough for him puch with out damaging it or himself.
While not openly speaking for either side of the argument, before or after his powers awoke, Masato fully doesn't grasp the arguement on either side, seeing as mutants are still humans but that some control should be inplace for those who would abuse this power. Masato has agreed to with hold major judgements until he can fully understand his own power, figuring he could use his own experiences to mold his view. He doesn't want to see someone abuse their powers, and is willing to stop those who would try and abuse their gift. Masato just decides to live his life as it was, no different then before and wil remain openly vocal against any anti-mutant activities or any activities that would make mutants seem better then humans.
"You're not the only one with gifts."
:: MUTATION ::
- :: Media Telepathy ::
Unlike most telepaths, Masato is unable to read minds, see people thoughts, or force them to things against their will. Instead he is able to search peoples minds for the most recent thing they have watched, read, and/or played. There are a few rules to this though.
Rule one, the average time he is able to search back is twenty-four hours to one week if the person takes in the average amount of media. If the person seldom reads any books or watches any movies or shows then Masato can dig as far back as three months, but that is relatively stressful on him.
Rule two, the exception to Rule one. If the person has a specific scene or section that has impacted them mentally, to the point they think of it years after seeing or reading it, Masato is able to see it but can't use his other powers unless he has seen or read it himself.- :: Media Hypnosis ::
Masato is capable of causing people he comes in contact with to mentally relive the events of the movie or novel. There are some side effects though. The person under this effect will seem to physically be spacing out or fallen asleep, any real physical pain can snap them out, but wouldn't advise due to the fact it can cause, nausea, paranoia, memory loss, and other minor side effects that very from person to person.
The affected person, will take on a character who's subconscious is most like there own, or if their own subconscious has another link to a different character, for instance a person who makes jokes about their own hight, was recently watching a Lord of the Rings movie, and gets effected by Masato's power: may take on the character of one of the hobbits, despite being more in tuned subconsciously to a different character. While reliving these scenes, the inductee will remember who they are but also take on some memories and techniques of the character they are portraying. any pain the character feels, they will fell as well up to lethal pains. Anything the body can't normally take will result in them waking up from the trance. This is one of two ways to wake up, the other is to finish the story. If the affected one refuse to move on to the next scene, or even to start they will relive the scene over and over until something effects them physically. If the events that Masato is killed during the use of his power the person is pulled back to reality, but it wouldn't be pleasant. The best way to describe it would be, a feeling of being grabbed and ripped across dimensions, and every muscle in their body kick-starting all at once.- ::Telepathic Pulse::
This is a stronger version of Masato's Media Hypnosis. Instead of effecting one person, during extremely stressful moments he is able to affect multiple people, as long as he has in someway connected to them in the last ten hours. While the most common way is by physical touch, it can also be by holding the same items at the exact same time. After this happens Masato will go into a comma like state himself, and float between the movies and novels of those who are being affected. In case of Masato's death, the effect would be similar to that of his normal ability, but happening to multiple people. It is possible to have more then one person in one media, the only down side is it can't go with more inductees as there are characters. If the amount of characters are maxed the remain people are simply pushed into one they saw, read, or played closest back, example two to three days.

:: History ::
Masato Oshiro was born on November fifteenth, in the Shibuya district of Tokyo. Growing up in a place that quite literally was known for its energy, Masato grew to being a very energetic child, and spent a majority of his time in either 109, PARCO, or one of the many arcades and/or movie theaters. Doing fairly well in school, he proved to be what everyone was expecting of him when looking at his father, and that he would make a great heir to his family’s business. It was then his life changed, by his father’s choice.
When he turned fourteen he was taken in under his father, preparing him for his new life. Over a period of two years he was taught economics, English, and various other tools his father thought would be useful. Masato, who hated every minute of it found himself often going back to the movie theaters and fashion stores he visited often when he was younger, in secret of course. It was then he asked his mother to help him learn to sew, saying since his father wanted him to take over a business that mostly dealt with trades in both North America and England, that if he could affect more than the business side, it could be very beneficial for the company. It was a year and a half later Masato and his parents moved to New York, his father seeing it as a way to show him the difference in the worlds.
On the flight he remembered the news reports he watched from the States, showing various stories on mutants. He remembered hear how different countries where dealing with the issue each separately. Unannounced to his father, the young teen actually didn't mind the people who had other abilities; he saw it as something they should be proud of, not something they should hide from the world.
It had been six months since the move, and despite being uneasy at first, Masato has learned to adapt to his new surroundings, and even picked up a job at a movie theater that would opening soon. Everything seemed to be going great on the opening night, that was until his power awoke and caused him to affect a little under a quarter of the movie attendees. This was quickly covered up with a little help, and his father, who had felt Masato was now a curse on his family, was contacted by the Xavier’s institute, and next thing the young teen knew he was enrolling in the new school.
"Scream for me."

Masato cringed as his father continued to yell. It wasn't his fault that his powers had activated, let alone that anybody realized it was him. Hell he wasn't even sure if it was him. He remembered working the ticket stand, and then the massive headache when he went to go get some more snacks for the booth, then nothing. He remember things going blank, and then flashes of what he thaught where scenes of movies, but they where too pushed together for him to notice any real detail. Like laying one roll of tape over another.
He bowed politely as his father dismissed him from the room. He hated the thought that his father was mad because of something he couldn't control. Giving a small huff as he closed the door behind him, Masato started to trace back the hallway from his dad's office to the front of the building. It was a simple trace, three hallways and an elevator ride, were all that stood in his way. His hands clasped behind his head in a relaxing manner, as he heard bits and pieces of the offic chatter. There was that one thing about places like this that Masato loved, the choatic rush of people working, the sound of several conversations lighting the hallways, everything was music for him here.
Shaking the thought away as he entered the elevator, slightly dissapointed when he found himself alone for the trip down. Giving a small sigh, as he reflected on what his father had said. He didn't blame him for being angry, Masato just wished that his father would have handled it better. Punching the wall of the elevator, the young teen tried to work out everything that had happened the past few minuets. Sighing mentally, Masato stepped out of the elevator and the building, hoping to try and find something to make him feel better.
