:: PERSONALITY ::
Dominic has grown a lot since he was younger. He was brash, quick to snap out, and didn’t think things through. Nowadays he takes his time with most things, thinking of the easiest and most effective way to do things. He’s gone from a hot headed child to a respectable adult; however certain things get a rise out of him very quickly. A hot topic being mutant and human rights seems to set him off. He’s very opinionated about the topic and why shouldn’t he be, he’s a mutant after all. Despite being a well gathered adult; when put on the spot he displays a more aggressive nature.
He doesn’t enjoy being held responsible for things of great importance, especially if they are something he does not agree with.
He greatly respects Erik Lehnsher and his ideas, and trusts him, almost indefinitely, where as his second in common, mystique, is much less trust worthy. He views Raven as more of a mediator and at times she seems to be working for the completely other side. He doesn’t trust things he doesn’t understand, call that the human in him. He’s grown as an individual and grew attatched to helping children that had or are having similar problems to himself, thus he became a teacher. He attempts to function as a role model for younger mutants and through his actions he hopes to instill some of his beliefs into the minds of fresher more impressionable mutants.
He keeps his identity secrets from the student body, going as far as to rarely display his power at school. Even while being a Danger room instructor Dominic manages to use his powers relatively slim to none while he is teaching, as he does often attend riots and other disruptions to enforce the mutant cause, or so he thinks it.
"You're not the only one with gifts."
:: MUTATION ::
- :: Vibration Transmission ::
Dominic is often seen as having control over earth, which to a degree is correct, however it is so much more than that. His power is based off of being able to control the vibration of molecules in the surrounding air around him, primarily directed through his hands. He can tap into the exact frequency of an inorganic object and cause it to shatter, and or break. His concentration depends on how violent the destruction is. He can use this power to create giant fissures in the ground, tear down walls, and completely obliterate nearly any defensive structure that stands in his way. In an attempt to use this power on any living thing it causes a ripple effect where the power is redirected towards him wreaking havoc on his body.
"Living from day to day, moving from place to place, with no memory of who or what you are."
:: History ::
Dominic was born over seas, in Greece. His father and mother were an odd couple but none the less they were a couple. His father worked days and his mother worked at night so the two of them were never really home together. He primarily lived with his grandparents. They spoiled him and treated him like a kid of course. He'd over heard his parents several times, arguing about money, and other frivolous matters.
Not long after they decided it was best for the three of them to move. In a social structure where the children took care of their parents, moving was a big deal. They had history in that old house. His Grandparent's grandparents had lived in that house.
Transitioning between the close knit family life he knew in Greece, to the less personal New World was not easy. Instead of coming home to his grandparents, he came home to an empty house, which he spent most of his younger childhood in finding out what it meant to be truly alone. This hardened him, he grew up as a sort of outlier that sought destruction for attention.
He became a reputable bully, his only friends being those which sucked up to him, in order to become popular.He hid his true emotions from the world and became what he’d shown the world. Acting as he was it was only a matter of time before he was kicked out of his first school, not that it really mattered to him.
His parents didn't really pay much attention and simply switched schools, so naturally it elevated. The next time his parents took notice of him, was of course, under the worst of circumstances. He'd escalated to robbery, today just happened to be a jewelry store. He'd scoped it out and they didn't have an alarm system and everything would have worked great had some passerby not called the cops.
When the cops showed as apposed to coming quietly he ran, who ever came quietly anyway? He'd lead them on quite a chase before he was cornered. Turning to face his adversaries he backed himself against a wall and as if an instinct he thrust his hands forwards, almost as if to tell them to stop but the ground beneath them rumbled, cracked and rocked violently. Throwing them off their feet he was too awestruck to make another run for it.
He was taken to jail, and his parents were notified. They made there way down there but he didn't care, a relationship for them was too late. He was linked to other smaller crimes, car theft, and vandalism were among the list. Sent to Juvy he promptly broke out and changed his name to Lance Alvers.
With his new name, he went back to school. He hadn't changed much however, he focused on keeping his powers under wrap, and he refrained from anything too illegal. In order to conceal his identity he crafted a rather plain suit with a solid steel helmet to conceal his identity during acts of violence or other petty crimes. The news cast his as "avalanche" which quickly grew and he accepted the rather appropriate name.
Finishing school he decided not to attend college, this gave him plenty of time to get into trouble, luckily; he was approached by an older man before he got into too much trouble. Eric Lehnsher approached him one on one and told him what it was he stood for, and at first Lance thought he'd fallen off his rocker but overtime he started to mature and yearn for a place he could just be himself without worry of reproach. He was taken under Magneto's wing and trained with his powers, as well as learning his fair share about other qualities of life.
As a way of staying close to Megneto he took a job as Training room instructor as soon as the Lehnsher institute was completed. Through the school he ran into several other mutants with which he shaired his views and he saw how easily a young persons mind was crafted into thinking the way he thought.
"Scream for me."

Lance was in the training room, which was currently off. The large room and its silver panels were eerily silent, and he had that feeling it was too quiet. He wasn't alone, but was it a person, or had someone flipped on the room without him knowing. Not that it mattered, whoever or whatever it was; it was trying to sneak up on him.
Standing in his uniform, the metal faceplate glinted in the white lights. He pulled his gloves up, quickly turning around he lifted his arms as if flipping a table and the ground tore like a napkin. The sound of the earth tearing apart was like a thousand broken plates and whoever it was sneaking up on him was flung into the air and across the room.
He may have been older than the students but he was in better shape than half of them. He ran across the room to where the student was. He knelt down next to the poor student and smiled. "You should have known better," He offered the young mutant his hand as he helped them to their feet.
"Welcome to Mutant High."
