:: PERSONALITY ::
He’s as loyal to his friends as a trusty dog. He’d be willing to do anything to help a friend out. He sometimes acts out for attention starting fights with people at school. This isn't unheard of with mutants though, after being abandoned by their family they would obviously crave attention. He does everything in his power to not kill someone; no one deserves an untimely death in his eyes. Life is precious and he’s willing to protect it all, humans and mutants, with all he’s got.
Austin doesn't back down from much, he’s more of the stand your ground type of person but he’s not against finding diplomatic solutions to problems. It just isn’t hiss strong suit. He’s learned that you sometimes have to bend the rules in order to get things done, but as long as long as you meld them back together afterword’s than you’ve basically done nothing wrong, or so he would say.
He’s an easy going caring sort of individual, there isn’t much you can do to really p** Austin off other than picking on those that otherwise can’t defend them. He’ll stand up for anyone, provided they don’t deserve it. He’s more likely to turn the other way if someone deserves a beating than not but even then he sometimes can’t help but step in and stop. Some of the basic things he enjoys in life are playing sports, working on cars, having fun, and just all together being some sort of crazy guy of super awesomeness."You're not the only one with gifts.":: MUTATION ::
- :: Smoke manipulation::
What more do you want me to say? He control the smoke form a cigarette and the smoke from the exhaust of a car, a car not running right. Is that it? No thankfully. He can also turn his entire body into one large dark plume of smoke. Not only is this valuable as a way of transportation as while in this form he can fly through the air, he can also escape from anything with even the smallest crack keeping him out of prison, but it is also extremely useful as he is able to control it to certain parts of his body at will. On the downside however once he turns his body into the plume of smoke he sort of loses his clothes. He can also solidify the smoke to a degree able to use it if he is injured in order to prevent extreme blood loss though solidifying the smoke takes most of his concentration and would be done after a fight if he had been wounded.- ::Toxin Immunity::
Because of his power Austin is immune to most known forms of toxins and poisons. And smoke doesn't cause him any harm he could even stand in the middle of a room filled with smoke and able to breathe it in without being harmed.- ::telepathic resistance::
Due to being able to shift in and out of this smoke phase his organs have changed. His brain is in a constant smoke like state and constantly moving as if a tiny little hurricane in his head orbiting around his most protected thoughts like a shield. His mind doesn’t even send and receive messages the same way making it harder but not impossible for telepaths to read his mind. Anything more than reading his mind would be difficult to do for even a skilled telepath."Living from day to day, moving from place to place, with no memory of who or what you are.":: History ::
Raised by a cop and a lawyer a mutant son was their worst nightmare. But they didn't have a say in what was to happen. A plan had been set in motion that they couldn't alter. As Austin grew up his parents grew apart. They began arguing long before he could remember but at the age of five his father had actually threatened to leave, though that wasn't the worst of his family troubles. As he got older their relationship got worse and worse.
They began sleeping in separate room and this tore Austin apart inside. He couldn't do anything though, his father and mother had both picked up smoking trying to reduce their stress or something. Though nothing helped, eventually there were papers and his parents split up. He didn't have anyone to blame so he naturally though it was his own fault. That his dad had left because of him. His mother became extremely religious but with that she began to go a little off her rocker. She began to think that mutants were creations from the devil himself.
She couldn't have predicted that Austin was a mutant, no one could but his mother’s mind was made up. At the first time of him witnessing his powers he ran away from home. At the age of fifteen he was forced to steal from a man in order to feed himself. It was a horrible thing to do considering the two people he'd grown up around where bred to stop crime. Up until the age of sixteen he was forced to either steal or use his powers on some unsuspecting person for the small amount of food that he got. He didn't hate the people he stole from it was just out of need that he stole. He rarely bothered just asking since he was a mutant and he thought it was obvious to everyone. Though the few times he did he wasn't often turned down.
When Austin heard about the school for people like him he eagerly jumped for the opportunity. He was pretty far behind in school but it was a chance to have a roof over his head that he didn’t have to break into. The school was a shelter for him and if it was a shelter for him, why couldn’t it be for others like him. Austin began actively looking through homeless shelters for children with experiences like his own. IT wasn't hard before he found a few however others had their moments that truly affected him.
One misguided mutant he caught when she tried to make off with his wallet. It was comical seeing her fall over as she made off with his wallet. Blink was what she went by and boy was she crazy. He’d saved her after she ”blinked” out in front of oncoming traffic, not that he couldn't have picked he rout of a crowd due to the vibrant pink hair. It seemed she appreciated it, whether or not she ever said it, as the two of them grew closer, sort of like a brother sister relationship.
Another one he distinctly remembers is a young German girl by the name of Claudia. He’d gone to the local homeless shelter, which he often did but hell if he’d tell anyone and ruin his manly demeanor with such an act. He was sitting next to a small kid, who was obviously a mutant. The young boys face was green, literally, and he didn't look all too well either. He was talking to him about a place, a place safe for him and people like him, and low and behold there was Claudia, listening in to every word. Somehow along the way she misconstrued him as a priest, be it his mannerisms, his speech, or just something else entirely. No matter the reason Austin ran with it, after all who was more trustworthy than a priest? Claudia was more skeptical than blink had ever been but she agreed none the less.
Austin helped two mutants, who might have otherwise gone unnoticed, get to the school and made two friends.Man what a great guy .

Austin stood idle feeling helpless as more and more people began to show up. His hopes only slightly rising with each new member ready to fight. The Alex managed to make one stumble and before he knew it the actions had played out and eight people including him were there to protect the mansion, to protect its inhabitants. His time on the sidelines was over; he had to help if he could.
Austin quickly spread out the orb of smoke surrounding him in a thick haze. He would have used it to help his friends but unlike him they wouldn’t be able to breath and it would have acted more as a hindrance than anything. Then he broke out in a dash towards one of the large metal men. As he drew closer people continued to chip away at ones cosmetic flesh like covering revealing its hard core.
While it was painfully obvious that another mutant was about to join the attack the machines were not able to get an accurate reading on Austin, one firing into the haze of smoke pre-empted his transformation in order for him to dodge it. With Austin’s body now comprised completely out of smoke the attack missed, though he couldn’t contain this form indefinitely, he needed to act fast.
Going after the one with the most damage previously done he began swirling around it every fiber of his being looking for an opening and in the mean time also taking the current sentinels distraction. It even reached up in a failed attempt to stop him from circling around its metallic body. Then Austin found it, the part were Alex had hit, the shoulder. Austin and all his smoke quickly entered the small crack where the two parts connected effectively disappearing from view.
While inside he began revolving around the frame of the metallic man looking for the part that would do the most damage. When he couldn’t pick a spot he concentrated hard enough to solidify his hands, reaching out and ripping as many wires as he could. The Sentinels’ eyes went dark and as he continued to tear at the cords other portions began to shut down. Though Austin had done all the damage he could, he was beginning to feel weak, and he had to find an exit and quick.
The smoke quickly appearing once more on the outside of the sentinel Austin headed for the ground, the smoke gathering and condensing to form his body. Unfortunately he had lost concentration and as he finally became solid once more he received a blast directly to his back. His eyes lit up in a writhing pain just before his body fell limp and he effectively became the first one to fall.
He was still aware for about ten more seconds; long enough to hear the sentinel he’d attack slam to the ground. Then think of how everyone would react seeing as he was the first one to fall. He figured Gambit and Alex would probably react similarly, Regan from what he’d heard would probably just think he was some dumb kid trying to make something of himself. Whatever their reactions he guessed people would start making mistakes now.
