Remy opened his eyes looking up as Blink decided to take off and challenge that guy. Remy shrugged. He could tell any interaction with that guy was gonna lead to catastrophe. It was only a few minutes later Blink aggressive attitude mixed with his antics certainly brought on that. She had blinked inside his shield and dropkicked him. Somehow the deck ended up destroyed and Blink was in the water.
Remy sat up not noticing her pop up anywhere. She wasn’t even showing her head above water. He was less than impressed with the whole thing but bolted for the water instantly. He had swam in enough Lakes and Bayous to know someone who had been down for too long. He also knew Blink far too well. This is something she would have loved to hit the top of the water bragging about how she got passed his shield.
Remy with jeans on dove into the water and swam downward. The other kids were distracted by watching out for the flying debris of destroyed deck. Remy hadn’t been exposed to too many other mutants in his short time as one but he could quickly see why a school like this was required. Some people lacked the common sense not to abuse them when they had little control over them.
He swam down noticing Blink sinking. She was struggling to try to swim upward but it was all unchoreographed movement that wasn’t going to get her anywhere but to the bottom. He swam down in perfect motion as he wrapped his arms around her and swam up to the top with Blink clutched firmly in his arms. The water rushing through his hair and passed his face fast as he powered their bodies through the water. Finally their heads broke the surface as she quickly gasped for breathe taking in as much as she could. ”Way to make a splash.” he said jokingly but without his usual smile.
She could have drowned and died just now. He turned his head around looking for the other idiot but Ms. Grey had already gotten ahold of him. Apparently someone had already hit him with something and he was hallucinating. It quickly dawned on him just how bad things could go with a bunch of people playing around with these powers. He knew his incident with his powers was a mistake. He wasn’t playing with them like these fools and he killed someone. Still clutching her body close to his he waded them back to the shore. He let go of her so that she could continue catching her breath.

Ruth was about halfway between the Mansion and where the food was being prepared when everything just seemed to go wrong all at once. One moment everything seemed to be calm and peaceful with just a minimal amount of shouting from down in the direction of the lake and the next trees had been ripped up, students were being attacked, and there was a great deal of shouting about a dragon.
She ran in the direction of the dock to see what assistance she might be able to offer, but no sooner had she arrived on the scene than the whole ordeal was over. A readheaded woman had appeared, subdued the primary trouble maker, and returned with him to the Mansion. She was sure it must have felt like forever to those who had been directly involved, but in reality it had only been a few minutes. If that.
Standing near the edge of the lake Ruth looked around for something she could do to help. It took only a few seconds to spot a boy in jeans dragging a pink girl in a barely there swimsuit out of the lake. The girl was hacking up water, which meant that Ruth's CPR skills would not be needed. She went first to the pink girl and thumped her gently on the back before turning her attention to the boy.
Mercy, but he was a looker. Those glowing red eyes seemed like they could look right through a girl.
"That was very brave of you," she said softly to Remy, rising back to her feet and slowly considering that she was much less flashily dressed than most of the girls running around, including one that looked like a teacher with a chest that could be used as an emergency flotation device. No doubt the boy would have little interest in Ruth since she was dressed so moderately.
Keeping half an eye on the pink girl Ruth, suddenly very aware of her appearance, brushed a few loose strands of her hair behind her right ear. "I'm Ruth," the Israeli girl said, not sure if she should offer her hand to the guy with the washboard abs or not.

Cory was distracted when Eric went to grab her a chair by the commotion at the docks. It seemed to be over almost as quickly as it started, though the flying trees and s*** was really just... wow.
Things sure got out of hand quickly here.
Miss Grey went running toward the commotion and put an end to it effectively and quickly, though seeing her get tossed around was a little bit eye opening. It was a very scary thing to see, actually. There were clearly some things that Cory would clearly not be able to contend with, and she hoped that she didn't have to do so in the future.
As she sat next to Eric, he offered her a bottle of sun screen. She took it gladly, applying some to her face and arms, under her shirt on the front side since she couldn't very well reach her back and her legs. She debated for a moment, being ever so slightly shy and just decided f*** it, she needed the help. She burned through this shirt on a regular basis.
"Hey, Eric, could you do me a favour? " she asked, hoping she wasn't about to sound like a tramp coming up with excuses for him to touch her. " It's just that I burn through this shirt since it's such a light colour and thin fabric... could you..?" She turned her back to him, looking over her shoulder inquiringly. She felt seriously awkward but... she supposed it needed to be done. "So, uh, what do you do? Ya know for like, powers?" " Haha, you really don't waste any time getting to the nitty-gritty of conversation, eh?" she was joking, obviously so and comfortably. She didn't mind talking about her powers at all. " Plants. Actually, like... I don't know it's a little hard to explain... how aboat this?" She reached down and touched the ground with her left hand, focusing her energy on making some little wild daisy grow. There was so much more that she could do but she really didn't have the control for that yet. Cory looked up from the plant and back into Eric's eyes, smiling brightly in an almost infectious way. " Pretty nifty, eh?"[/blockquote]

Clarice was certain she had seen her last day of life. She had made angry peace with the fact that she was going to drown while people were not even twenty feet away. Darkness was creeping into the rims of her vision when someones arms wrapped around her, hauling her close. Soon she was being pulled towards the surface. The magenta skinned mutant stole a glance behind her to see Remy. She would have smiled if she weren't still a bit in a panic. Their heads hit the surface of the water and Clarice's lungs inhaled involuntarily. She gripped Remys arms, afraid that if she didn't she'd slip free of his hands and back under the water. She almost laughed as he commented on her making a splash, but her body was still in shock and wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. Instead the only noises her throat made were hacking coughs, trying to dispel the water that had been inhaled into her lungs.
Remy tugged her all the way back to the shore. "Apparently." She coughed, her voice choked and weak. "I don't know how to swim." She finished as her body met the shoreline. He released her and she hunched over onto her hands and knees, trying to relearn how to breath. And also to not vomit the lake water that had seemingly filled her to the brim. She glanced back at the commotion, shaking her head in disbelief. No wonder no one had really noticed she'd gone under and not come up. So much was happening. She was watching the red haired Jean Grey take care of the situation when someone else approached them.
The young girl whacked Blink on the back, the magenta teen assumed trying to be helpful. Instead it only annoyed her, but her hacking wouldn't allow her to voice any of this. She finally regained control for a moment, falling over and taking in slowing breaths. She glared up at the brunette girl with stunning eyes. But Clarice regulated her breathing for a moment, half listening in on the conversation. For christ sake she hadn't had ten minutes to even breath, let alone thank Remy for saving her life and already some bimbo was throwing herself at him for his heroic acts.
She pink mutant sat up, her arms wobbling just a bit. She stared at the girl in complete disbelief. The mutant stood, grumbling to herself and coughing occasionally. "UNBELIEVABLE." She finally barked, her pupil-less green eyes glaring at the girl. "Can't even get ten minutes to BREATH. Let alone THANK him for saving me before one of you skanks has to practically grovel for his attention." She ranted, her voice hoarse. She gestured towards Remy and the girl as she spoke, obviously pissed. She glanced back at Remy. "Thanks Rem. I'd be sleepin' with the fish if you hadn't thought fast, eh?" She said in a sheepish tone.
She glared at the new girl walking past her, her shoulder slamming into her before she continued towards her towel. Upon reaching it she grumpily snatched her towel off the ground along with her shirt. She slipped her Toms on, grumbling to herself. The magenta skinned mutant grabbed the still full can of Dr. Pepper and headed towards the food. She paused to look at the offering after slamming the can into the trash.
"No all dressed chips. Fuck this." She growled to herself.

Angel let out a relaxed sigh as Vidar's hands ran over her back. She laid her head on her arms, taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly. It hadn't occurred to her that he may not have ever applied lotion. She thought about it for a moment, not voicing the fact that if he hadn't he wasn't bad at it in the least. He finished giving her a rubdown, which she enjoyed thoroughly. Though it did give her flashbacks of their previous evenings together. Not that those flashbacks were bad, but they did make her blush. He moved to move away from her and for a short while they simply soaked the sun. She couldn't have chosen a better day for such lounging. She was humming lightly to herself when she began to hear the commotion. Faintly. At first she had assumed it was just students rough housing. After all it was a lake party.
But mention of dragons had her brow raised and she lifted herself up onto her elbows to peer over. That was when Vidar tapped her on the shoulder and she nodded. "Looks like the children are getting out of hand." She rose with Vidar and let him go first, not wanting her powers to affect him. After he took flight she too sprinted towards the commotion and with one quick leap, and burst of hot air, she lifted from the ground. A yellow aura surrounded her and pulsing from that aura were dancing flames.
Careful not to move close to anyone Angel flew over the top of all the ruckus. "THAT IS ENOUGH!" She called to them, ushering students to move to safety. She squeaked out in surprise, however, as that massive tree swung towards the pixie girl and followed through towards herself. Angel dodged it, flying a bit lower. However as she did so she had moved closer to a student with wide bat wings. In a panic the red haired mutant vanquished the energy of her gift and went sprawling towards the lake.
"This is going to hurt.." She cried to herself. If she was lucky she'd be far enough from anyone that she could 'turn on' her powers again. But the more she fell the more people came closer to her. Alright so this was going to hurt a lot more than she expected. Angel closed her eyes and tried to figure out a good way to land this. Unfortunately this wasn't going to be like a dive in the pool, so straightening her legs was a bad idea. Luckily she didn't have to worry about that landing, as a pair of strong; yet soft, arms caught her and gripped her. She thought things would cool off, or at least she hoped.
Their pace slowed slightly and she realized they were about to hit the water regardless of him having caught her. He used himself to keep her from hitting first, and it sheltered her from most of the harsh blow. They went under and for a moment Angel was stunned beneath the lake waves. Her head hit the surface and she took in a deep breath, looking around for Vidar. She spotted him, half floating on the surface but not moving. Angel kicked her legs quickly, her arms reaching out for him and praying he hadn't killed him. She pulled the big man into her arms, and was relieved to feel his chest rise and fall.
"Vidar." She half screamed in panic, awkwardly turning him around to face her. She held his head out of the water, half holding his face to her shoulder. She tugged him towards the shore, unaware that one of her straps had snapped upon their impact. Though her half dragging him like this was enough cover that she wasn't worried about it when she did realize. "Vidar wake up, talk to me." She commanded as her feet hit land and she held him to her still half submerged in water so she didn't have to bare his full weight just yet.
"Come on handsome, wake up." She pleaded, glancing behind her to see Jean leaving with the trouble maker.

"Vidar. Vidar wake up, talk to me. Come on handsome, wake up."
Slowly the winged man groaned and opened his eyes to look at Angel with unfocused eyes. He'd felt better in the past, that was for certain. Of course, at the same time, the pain he was in at the moment was nothing compared to having been shot and stabbed. He was also coming to realize, however hazily, that Angel was about half out of her top. Not that he minded. Still, he was somewhat dimly aware that she would be very uncomfortable about that.
He was also aware, among other things, that he'd dislocated his left knee and that he couldn't put any weight on that
"I'm awake, concussed, but awake," he said groggily, shaking his head a bit to try and clear out some of the cobwebs that seemed to have found a home there. His eyes rolled in his head a bit for a few seconds before settling on Angel's chest.
"You're half out of your top again," he said flashing her a sloppy grin his eyes glued to the spot for several seconds before, somewhere in the back corners of his slightly addled brain, he remembered it was impolite to stare.
"You sure do seem to fall out of clothing around me a lot... not that I mind in the least," the winged man continued, unable to fully filter everything he was saying thanks to a mild concussion. His eyes went unfocused again for a moment. Then he leaned in, slipped a taloned hand to the back of Angel's neck and head and kissed her hard on the mouth. Despite the concussion me managed to resist the urge to allow his other hand to wander... though that may have been a side affect of a separated shoulder more than anything else.
"I think we should go on a date," the bird man continued in a dazed sort of way, rambling on after he broke the kiss. "The romantic kind," he continued, glancing down at Angel's chest again. "Like this," he concluded, making his point by kissing the redhead full on the mouth again and sliding his hand down her back to further press her generous assets against his own feathered form.
"Ow," he complained after he broke the kiss a second time. He let go of Angel and rubbed a hand over his ribs where she had been pressed into him. He might also have grabbed her in a purely accidentally on purpose kind of way. Everything was a bit too foggy for the groundskeeper to be completely for certain what he was doing. "Cracked ribs too, I think," he continued, sagging forward against Angel.
"Off to medical, I think," he declared, spinning Angel in the water and then draping a wing around her shoulders to cover her wardrobe malfunction from sight for any number of reasons. First, she would have been embarrassed to have been exposed like that. Second, even in his concussed state he assumed that using his hand to help out would be a no-no, even though it was terribly tempting. Third, with a bad leg he assumed she'd need both arms to help support his weight once they were out of the water. Fourth, and finally, as far as he was concerned he was the only person outside of Angel that was permitted such a generous view of her bountiful, bouncing, blessings. Basically, he didn't feel much like sharing his good fortune with anyone else.
"I might need a babysitter tonight... know anyone for the job," he asked, flashing her another sloppy grin and beginning to pull the curvy redhead out of the lake.

"UNBELIEVABLE. Can't even get ten minutes to BREATH. Let alone THANK him for saving me before one of you skanks has to practically grovel for his attention. Thanks Rem. I'd be sleepin' with the fish if you hadn't thought fast, eh?"
Ruth was somewhat shocked by the pink girl's outburst and visibly taken aback by the remark. The reaction was plain to see on her face and the Israeli girl flinched back slightly as if she had been physically slapped. By the time the dark haired teen had recovered Blink had already wandered off back to her towel and then headed off to get food.
As her gaze followed Blink's progress Ruth's eyes narrowed slightly. It was awfully rich of someone dressed in that kind of swimsuit to call anyone a skank. That bikini bottom barely concealed everything, even moreso than the rest of the ensemble barely concealed everything. If anyone was a skank it was the pink girl and not Ruth in her incredibly conservative one-piece speedo and shorts.
After a few moments the teen finally managed to find her voice as she glared at the pink girl from the distance between them, momentarily forgetting that Remy was right there. At the moment though, she didn't care. She wasn't going to take that kind of treatment from some scantily dressed skanktron that didn't even know how to swim.
"I'm not the skank you moronic pink whore," the Israeli shouted at Blink, throwing in the color of the girl's skin so as to make sure that everyone knew who she was talking about. "At least I don't have to pretend to drown to get attention from boys," she continued, leaving out the fact that she usually found such attention to be unwanted.

Remy leaned back into the ground just as Ruth had walked up. She complimented him on his bravery and Blink without missing a beat jumped all in her s*** about it. He shook his head looking up at Ruth. ”Thanks Ruth.” He said in the brief pause between Blink’s outburst before Ruth snapped back at her. Remy shook his head as these two were very close to going at it.
”Ladies, ladies relax. The day is far too pretty for a fight.” He noticed Ruth’s particular conservative appearance but that didn’t mean she wasn’t still very attractive. He dug her long curly brown hair. It was probably his current favourite feature about her. At least in the few minutes exposed to her.
He really didn’t want to get in the middle of these two and if anything after what had just happened he figured Blink would have more on her mind then barking insults at every person who talks to him. She stormed off in huff bumping shoulders with Ruth. There really was no need for it but she was all in a huff. He liked Blink she was a good chic but she was also very territorial. ”Don’t mind her. Nearly drowning makes people cranky.” he said trying to do some damage control.
He was far too social of a person to just write them off. Blink took it for flirting and it wasn’t to say that his social-ness didn’t often lead to him becoming more than friends. That didn’t necessarily mean it was his goal with every female. Although he wouldn’t turn down Ms. Conservative. Girls like her tended to have an untapped wild side just begging to be released. ”I'm thirsty. Would you like a drink?”
He knew Blink would look at this like him being who she thought he was but frankly she was really fucking with his calm. He also knew with Blink it was usually best to let her go chill out herself. She was a stubborn girl and far more stressed out then Remy ever was. He was going to do what he came to do and that was have some fun. "Ya don't sound like ya from 'round her, chere."

Eric took the bottle of lotion from her hand. It had been a while since he had touched a girl but he was playing it cool. He poured the lotion onto his hand and rubbed them together before placing his hands underneath her shirt onto her bare back. She had beautiful brown hair and her skin was soft like silk.
He leaned in closer to her as she showed off her abilities. ”Wow. That’s pretty amazing gift.” He had heard the staff use that word a lot when referring to mutations and he was quite fond of it. Of course after seeing some peoples powers he did see how they were a gift. Of course some powers seemed like punishments or tools to be abused.
Either way he really couldn’t complain about his own power. He thought it was rather nifty made the boring days in juvi more entertaining. He would often use his powers to take control of the guards. He didn’t do anything too bad with them sometimes just make them trip or whatever. Just something to help pass the time. He wasn’t too bad at controlling his powers being that he had such little freedom to do much of anything else.
He finished rubbing the lotion down on her lower back and over her hips. ”I think that should about cover it.” He said with a smile. He grabbed a rag and washed his hands. He needed to check the pit opening it up seeing that the open flame was now just pressing heat. He began mixing the bbq sauce into the meat before making them into patties. That was the way they did it back home. He threw down as many as he could onto the grill and put the top rack full of hot dogs.
The day was passing along slowly and he needed to start putting some food on plates for people to start picking at. ”So, uh, what kinds of movies you like? He really had no clue what to say to her but anything was better than nothing. Clearly she was interested that she was sitting next to him while he did nothing but cook. She could be out there swimming, playing, sunbathing, hanging out with other guys, but she was just sitting right there next to him.

Logan had been pre-cooking a lot of the meat in the kitchen, just so that the kids could all cook their own and not have to worry about getting ill. It wasn't exactly a specialty of his but living out in the wilderness as he had done for so long, he picked up a think or two. As he began to head towards the lake he saw all the commotion kicking off and mentally cursed for not getting someone responsible to supervise the whole thing.....not that it was his idea or anything.
He was just about to walk over and straighten things out with everyone when he saw Jean, and his heart almost exploded. He still couldn't get used to seeing her, and every time he felt like his heart was being both torn to pieces and covered with pillows. He stood idly by like a moron as she rooted out the shit stirrer and pulled him awaym Reluctantly Logan continued towards the cookout with the couple of plates of meet. He managed to walk through the small crowd and place everything down without a fuss.
"Here ya go kids, some proper grub...." He was talking to the students and like around the lake but his eyes were still on Jean following her as she walked away. "Hmmm....shame there's no beer...."

Masato was still off in his vision as things started to calm down. He still was seeing tentacles flying everywhere and on the verge of a nervous break down, but that was to be expected. It seemed like it wasn't doing anything or it hadn't noticed him yet. He thought this might be a good time to escape, to run and get help but that was before he turned his head.
All he heard was a dark language as a monster appeared next to him. Taken back by the thing next to him, Masato quickly shuffled back still sitting in the sand. It wasn't until he felt the tree behind him, that he realized he couldn't move any further. His breathing had started to get hard, as his mind raced on something to do. He felt something against his hand, a quick glance confirmed his thought of it being a tree branch.
Sliding toward it, he was able to stand and grab the sword length stick, and hold it out in front of himself. He didn't have a whole lot of memory with his kendo classes, but enough to satisfy he wasn't going to die trying. "No, I will get past you demon. Don't stand in my way!" Yelling in his native tongue, he pulled the makeshift weapon closer to him, and a deter mend look could be seen in Masato's eyes. He sneered as he was ready to defend himself if the monster came closer to him, unaware of what was really going on.

The wind picked up a bit, carrying loose strands of Cory's hair across her face and she couldn't stand that feeling, her own hair tickling the back of her neck and her face. It was a strange sensation while a cute boy had his hands on her as well. She shivered, mildly annoyed at herself for letting that get the best of her. She had several such ticks and they all bothered her just as much.
God forbid you touch her fairies.
She watched as Eric cleaned off his hands and began dealing with the meat, still kind of recovering from her slight embarrassment. She usually felt like a total spaz. Cory stood to help him form patties and anything else he might need a hand with, that's why she was here, right?
It was an excuse, but a viable one.
"What can you do, if you don't mind my asking?
" she asked in a somewhat quiet tone before hearing the pink skinned girl mutter something about 'all-dressed chips'. Cory took just a second to reflect on the idea that there was, indeed, another Canadian girl here and she'd managed to find her. It was interesting to her, though she wasn't entirely sure why. Of course, there were mutants here from all over the world, why should she be surprised to find a fellow Canuck? The funny thing was, there were a few things that Cory's mother had promised to send care packages of while she was here. All-dressed chips, DuMaurier cigarettes, and lots and lots of packages of poutine sauce. Cory could fake her way with the cheese, but she needed her fix of Canadian goodness. She held her finger up to stall Eric for a second, just a second while she reached into her purse to toss a small bag of All-Dressed Ruffles at Blink, winking at her as she did and then she turned her attention back to Eric. No doubt there would be some sort of fangirlish squeal, or at the very least a 'thank you', but she totally wasn't willing to be torn away from learning more about this guy. He went on to ask her about what kind of movies she liked, and she smiled. " Anything that can make me laugh," she replied with a little giggle. " I don't like things that take themselves too seriously, but anything from cheesy action flicks to B-rated horror to big time comedy and right back to the more interesting indie films. I thought Alien vs Predator was downright hilarious. How aboat you?" Of course she was just sitting right there next to him. He was cute and friendly enough for her to not feel intimidated by, shy as she was, and really she could only handle about one social interaction in a day. She wasn't one for big groups of people. Today was his day, and if she had her way, tomorrow would be too.[/blockquote]

Pixie's worst fear was confirmed, that her new friend had been dusted, when he stared at her like she was a being of pure and absolute evil. He shuffled back until his back was against a tree and grabbed a branch from the ground, brandishing it like it were a weapon. Indeed, she'd narrowly missed being smacked in the face by it.
No no no no no, this would not do.
He started speaking in a threatening tone in a language she didn't understand and she just stared at him, wide eyed. Oh that poor poor boy! She had no idea what her hallucinations were like because she was unaffected by her own pixie dust. People never reacted well in her past experiences. She'd been having such a fun time playing with him, too. Poor boy.
Pixie didn't know what to do. She couldn't very well get him to the medical bay, not that it would do him any good. As far as she knew her dust had to run its course. She was at a complete loss, all she did know was that she had to stay by him to make sure he didn't hurt himself or anybody else. She floated back several paces worth and just sat down where she was, trying to look as non-threatening as possible as she waited for the hallucinogens to run their course.
Her wings were drooping, her head hung low, she clearly felt absolutely horrible for the trouble she had caused.
If it wasn't for her, Julian's prank wouldn't have gone so far out of hand.

Blink glowered for a long while at that table of food. Mostly because her mind was running elsewhere. She was furious. With herself, with everything. Not only had she just made a complete fool of herself having nearly drowned, but once more with her outburst. Of course that was when the brat still chatting it up with Remy screamed something at her. The magenta skinned teen looked up, her green eyes nearly glowing with anger. Now was a good time to leave, if only to save this shindig from another bout of violence. The young magenta girl didn't often get into fist fights, but on occasion she had been known to through a proper left hook. She scowled to herself, clamping her mouth shut with clenched teeth.
Do not say a word, Blink.
Not. A. Word.
She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to remember to just breath through the anger and let it slide. Otherwise she was bound to end up somewhere she didn't particularly like. Or worse she'd end up in a fight. Which meant she'd black out and start throwing punches and wake up either in detention or the medbay. She looked up just in time to catch a small bag from the girl talking to the cook fellow. Her small hands ran over the bag and flipped it over. Her knees nearly gave out. It'd been what... nearing nine years since she'd had them? Gratitude was definitely on her mind.
Blink approached the girl and without even thinking about how incredibly awkward it might be she wrapped her arms around her and squeezed. "Thank God." She said for a moment before releasing her and glancing back at Remy and Miss Desperate. She took a few steps away from the girl and the cooking student. Fine. Let him talk her up. Not her business anyway. She'd had enough of being called Pinkie for one day. Even in the land of mutants she'd be ridiculed because she didn't fit their norm. Well screw their norm. Fuck the lot of them. She had different eyes, different skin and different hair.
But damnit all she was the only Blink.
Doing her best to put that thought through her mind and stand tall she took a deep breath.
"Fuck it."
BLINK!

Suddenly the sound all channels on radio and television switched. ”We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for a message from the President of the United States.” Students tried changing the channel but found this was on EVERY channel. It could not be avoided. Students and Staff began huddling around the nearest TV or Radio.
”My fellow Americans. Good evening. For a long time the issue of Mutant and Human rights have been a topic of much heated debate. Of course a sensitive social issue such as this can have no easy answer. Every President before me has not taken a definitive stance on this issue. However, it should have been handled by now. For humans and mutants I do sincerely apologize.”
He stood firm, his face solid like stone. In this moment people from all over America were absorbed into the broadcast. It was history happening. Would Xavier’s dream take another step forward? Was this the moment that would finally decide the future? There were no scrolling text of information as there was nothing going on currently more important this.
”I hope that with this decision everyone can understand that this does not come at ease nor was it made overnight. This Administration has thus decided to institute the Mutant Registration Act.”
Mutants across the countries heart’s sank into their gut. Life had always been a shaky bridge with some walking it as good as they can whilst some brought down the reputation. Some mutants had no powers just physical mutations. Certainly this was a gut check to many.
”We know that you may feel this is a violation of your civil rights. We hope that you attempt to not see it this way. We feel it is simply in the best interest of law enforcement, hospitals, and schools that the be allowed to that information for everyone’s safety. We feel that for the safety of our Police Officers, Doctors, Patients, Students, Teachers, Firefighters, and Residents both mutant and human that you ALL have the right to know what is next door to you. I certainly would like to extend my deepest apologies to ANY mutant who feels like I personally or my administration is opressing you.”
He remained calm in both his voice and stance at the podium as camera’s flashed about constantly as he gave his speech.
”Come the New Year prepare to see Mutant Registration Department’s opening nationwide. We hope that every mutant will show up to register with us cooperatively without incident. You can find them in every major city in the United States. We will also be allowing for online registration for those of you who prefer to avoid going out into public for fear of protesters. I would also like to ask that my fellow humans show support, tolerance, and acceptance toward our mutant brethren who do stand in lines to register as these are the individuals who will be showing that they are working toward a better tomorrow for both human and mutant-kind alike. Thank you, and have a blessed day.”
The President immediately stepped away from his podium and walked off camera being escorted by the government officials as reporters screamed out questions attempting to get more information. Enough had been said though. The day had come.
