[Nix Night]

Nix sat without a word behind the music and party of the lake as the darkness fell around the students of the school, there was a slight breeze that was cool enough to keep one from feeling hot but not so bad a cost was needed. All the better for nix since she wasn't one to socialise in this way so the cool breeze and the darkness over the water were being her draw, she had come down here in the hope or maybe making a friend or two but all the girls in tiny shorts and stupid tops or drooling over the guys had just made her too mad.

She hated girls who dressed and acted like sluts, it was an insult to all the hard and determined things the women of history had done to earn the girls of today rights. So she had walked away and found a nice tree to sit in and just watch the darkness come down, night always made her feel better. People went away in the night and animals came out, the water looked better shining on the dark and the trees seemed almost to talk, night was where she truly felt happy. People or no people

[Pulse]

Colin had decided to walk down to the lake. He didn't know why, but for some reason, he found the lake to be calm and soothing at night time. After having a restless, nightmare filled sleep last night, he needed to relax. However, when he go to the lake, he noticed there was someone already there. He almost turned to head back, but he really didn't want to go back towards the loud, obnoxious students that were partying. Mustering up as much courage as he could, he walked down the rest of the way to the lake.

"Um...Hi, there. Do you mind if I sit here with you? The lake seems really calm and soothing at night." He noticed the girl was actually kind of attractive. Growing up, he never bothered trying to get a girlfriend. He knew he would never be able to take her home to meet the parents or anything, and he didn't think he could actually give someone his heart like that. He still thinks that sometimes, but he wants to at least try.

[Nix Night]

Nix sat in the branches off her tree and looked around her, the lake was calm and clear but not still. The movement of the water made her smile to herself, though a sound below her sent her on to alert. She turned her head and looked down to see a boy below her and she couldnt help but smirk, another like her who wanted to get away from the other students. "if you can climb up, you can sit here" she said as she looked at the branch beside her, she would need to move. She flicked her legs up from under her in a smooth movement before she moved over the branch like a cat and then she flicked herself out again so her legs dropped down over the branch edge again, not a normal action for a girl but a normal one for nix. "Night soothes me, ive always been a night girl" she said with a nod of her head before the breeze shot up, her hair was blow a little sending it over her back and she chuckled. A slim and yet tall girl with messy hair and bright eyes, not a normal seeming girl at all

[Pulse]

Colin was taken aback when she said he could climb the tree and sit next to her. When he asked if he could sit with her, he meant he planned on sitting against the tree. Still, he was no stranger to climbing, and she was quite pretty. Looking up, he was glad to see that the branch was thick enough to hold both of their wait. Carefully, he climbed up and sat next to her. Now that he was closer to her, her beauty really stuck out. There was obviously nothing plain about her. Something that he thought was a plus was the red hair. A lot of people might make rude comments about "gingers", but Colin was turned on by them.

"Thanks for letting me sit here. I was really only asking if I could sit against the tree, but sitting next to a pretty girl is more fun." Did he really just say that? Shut up, idiot. You're gonna scare her away he though to himself. He really hoped that didn't happen though. "I've always been a night owl myself, so I know the feeling.

Nix grinned to herself as the boy rose to the challenge she set him, she liked a guy who was happy to play her games. She wasnt one to lead someone on or to play with their feeling, but set them little easy but fun tasks or insult them playfully, that she did a lot. She chuckled as he moved to sit beside her and she wiggled along the branch to the other end to give him some more room, if the branch broke then she would find a way to stop from falling most ungracefully but hey. If it broke, then it broke.

He turned and started to speak and nix felt her face a go a little warm, "your choice to sit there kiddo, i dont mind" she said as he spoke. she felt a little prickle of anger shot over her skin but she shook herself, all her life she had been a "good looking" girl and people always tried to gain things from her over it. She hated it when boys thought of her as a prize because of her looks or thought they could try things with her, she could and would kick the ass of any who tried. But this boy seemed sweet, younger than her, but sweet

[Pulse]

As he positioned himself on the branch, the girl chuckled, moving over. The sound was trilling, sending a pleasant chill down Colin's spine. Hopefully she didn't notice as he tried to shake it off. Sitting on the branch, he realized it wasn't as thick and sturdy as he thought. Now he began to worry about what would happen if it broke. How would he keep himself and the girl from being hurt? Well, he'd worry about that when and if that time came.

Kiddo? Seriously? She couldn't have been much older than him. "Kiddo? You're joking, right? I mean, how old are you, like sixteen? He sometimes hated his appearance. Right now was one of those moments. He was fourteen, but due to his baby face, he looked about twelve. Hopefully, he have a growth spurt soon and his puberty would finally kick into overdrive. Until then, he'd have to deal with people thinking he's younger than he is.

Nix rolled her eyes as the boy spoke and she shook herself, "I wish, I'm 15. Turning soonish but still, I have the height and I can gain the manners to get me to about 17. From there I can convince I'm 18 and have done before" she said in reply to his comment. She didn't mean to put him down over his looks but she couldnt help it, she always thought boys were immature so being around one younger than her made them even more immature. Or have them room to be. She chuckled again at this thought though, there were so many different kinds of guys out there and she was generalising a fair amount but hey. She was right, mostly

Even though the girl was making fun of him, he was a little impressed. She knew how to use what she had, which was good in the type of world they live in. Still, he didn't like to be patronized, no matter who was doing it. Still, he figured it was best to let it slide, and let her get to know him. "Have you had to do that often? I mean, pretend to be older." Now that he thought about it, there were times when looking younger than you are might come in handy. He'd have to try and use that trick some day.

"I just realized, I've been rude and haven't introduced myself. My name is Colin. Colin Sanders. And you are?" He need to learn how to make himself seem more mature. Truth be told, he already was a little mature for his age, it just didn't come out often. He preferred to be the young, immature kid that he is. He didn't want to grow up to fast, and to hell with anyone who tried to force him to. He already had to deal with that when he had lived with his father, and he wasn't planning on letting it happen again.

Nix chuckled as she watched the boy, she could feel slight negative emotions flicking off him and making her fingers buzz but nothing all that bad. She turned to look him over as he asked her a question and she frowned, "yea, some times. i used to have to do it for work" she said in a quieter voice as she thought of her past before she shook herself. No time to dwell on who she had been. The boy spoke again and nix grinned darkly, "The name Shadow may ring a bell, i hear some of the younger kids call me that thanks to my anti bulling pranks and show downs with some of the bullies. But Nix works well too" she said before she lifted a hand from its place beside her on the branch and she offered it to her new companion, she didnt know him well enough to think of him as a freind but she liked him more than most she just happened across.
